Muniyattukunnu the land of dolmens
Muniyattukunnu is a small hill situated 6km away from Kodali, a village near Kodakara in Trissur district. The place had many dolmens known as ‘muniyara’. But now there are only 11 left. Due to the neglect by the archeological department, the place is almost in ruins now. As you climb up the hill, you can see one such dolmen. It has a ‘soola thara’ (trident platform) and as you move up, you can also see a cross. Once you are on top of the hill, you get a spectacular view of the Kodasseri hills and the surrounding landscape.
To visit Muniyattukunnu, turn towards Injakkundu junction once you reach the Kodali junction. There you will find a cooperative bank. Ride for another 2km through the road in front of the bank and soon you will reach this historical place.
